Student Art Competition

COG 250 years logo



The City of Greenville is seeking artwork submissions to honor the their 250th Anniversary. Artwork should be based on the theme: "What you enjoy most about Greenville." There will be monetary rewards for winners in multiple age groups. The City of Greenville will reserve the right to reproduce the art for public display and the art will be part of an exhibit in the fall at City Hall.

Artwork submissions on 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper. Participants will upload the artwork digitally or deliver it to City Hall (200 W 5th Street). Submissions are eligible from the entire community for ages 18-under.

Emerge Gallery & Art Center has two exhibition galleries: The Don Edwards Gallery and The Harvey Wooten Gallery. Exhibitions in both galleries rotate on a monthly basis. There are scheduled annual exhibitions throughout the year but there are still plenty of opportunities for group and individual exhibitions. If interested in exhibiting a body of work, artists should complete the application for our committee to review.

Arts and business go hand in hand. Pitt Community College’s Small Business Center is proud to partner with Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge to bring local artists a series of free workshops about business in the world of art.

Art Instructors

Emerge Gallery & Art Center is currently seeking art instructors to teach Spring Break Art Camp, Summer Camps, Birthday Parties, Group Art Activities, Private Lessons, Adult Weekly Classes, and more! We are seeking instructors to teach painting, film, photography, textiles, metal design, pottery, hand building, printmaking, mixed media, and other mediums. Strong professional and interpersonal skills are required. Must have a strong arts background and education. This is a contract labor position and instructors are hired as opportunities arise. Black Creatives of Pitt County

BCPC

The Black Creatives of Pitt County is made up of artists living, working, and playing in Pitt County. The group is made up of artists who are interested in literary, performing, and visual arts, however it is not limited to these. All are welcome.

The Tiny Art Show

Tiny Art 2023 Square

The Tiny Art Show is an annual exhibition and fundraiser during the month of February. All pieces must not exceed 5”x5”x7” in any direction. Work must be available for the entire exhibit and must be priced at $5 or $10.

Downeast Sculpture

The DownEast Sculpture Exhibition is an annual exhibition. The indoor portion of this exhibition is displayed in the Don Edwards Gallery during the month of March. The outdoor portion of this exhibition is featured for a year throughout Pitt County from March to the following February.

YOUTH ARTS FESTIVAL

The Youth Arts Festival will feature over 50 visual artists' booths where children can participate in creative activities making their own masterpieces. There will also be performing based activities including puppet making, storytelling, music, and theater interactive activities. The Youth Expressions Talent Show will be open for ages 5-18.

Sell your mugs during the holiday seasons!

Selected artists will have mugs featured and sold during the months of November and December and at our Holiday Mug sale booth during our 2023 Holiday Fundraiser - Jingle Art Jam!
