A Home for Art

The goal of our exhibition spaces is to educate the community on a wide range of art, and to give artists the creative freedom to exhibit their works. We currently house 5 exhibition spaces:

The Don Edwards Gallery and the Harvey Wooten Gallery are our main exhibition spaces and host monthly professional exhibitions, regional and national juried shows, student thesis and senior exhibitions, and many community exhibitions. The Harvey Wooten Gallery also hosts weekly special events as part of our Friday Night Live Series!

These 3 galleries, named 4th, 5th and Evans St. Galleries are located in the 2 stairwells and the hallway leading to our pottery facility. The goal of the space is to offer additional exhibition spaces to individual and groups that are emerging or may not have a body of work large enough to exhibit in our main space. We also use these spaces to exhibit children’s work produced from our many classed and camps.

Emerge has many opportunities for artist to exhibit their work in forms of juried shows and community exhibitions such as The Schwa Show, our annual national juried exhibition and the Tiny Art Show. We also coordinate many public art opportunities.
The Emerge Sales Gallery features work from local and ECU artists. Work ranges from ceramics, jewelry, painting, photography, wood design, textiles, sculpture, and more. All proceeds from the sales gallery go to help further the Emerge Education & Outreach Fund.
